So, now what? You slink back into the kitchen and peer at the unopened jars of canned garbage in your cabinet and wonder what will become of it all?

Time to canning upcycle!! Not all recipes are winners and even the most basic canning project can go awry. Sometimes, it is just a matter of having too much of a good thing and not enough time to regift it. Because, let's face it, once you realize you have canned 30 quarts of salsa when you only use 1-2 per month and you're already lugging in the next season of tomotoes, it's too late to start giving it away. People will know that they weren't special enough to receive the salsa when it was freshly canned.
Often times though, your canning mishap or surplus, just needs a makeover to be great again. Repurposing canned goods is an excellent way to use up duds that are taking up valuable space in the cabinet and free up your canning jars for the next project. In preparation for this year's harvest, I upcycled a few of my canning "extras", here are some ideas to try.
Let us know what you have lurking in the cabinet that needs a makeover. Perhaps we can help you with ideas. In any case, don't fret the canning "oopsie", you were really just disguising the ingredients in your next brilliant dish. Right? ;)
