We are not complaining. We have chosen this life. Our goals require this period of sacrifice and we are happy to have the ability to get out there and "kill it" every day. In the quiet moments in the evening at the very end of our work day, we sit out on the patio and reflect. We process. We plan.
Retirement is a big topic of discussion here. We are working this hard for a reason. To someday, in the not too distant future, not have to work so hard. It seems doable, we are optimistic. In the meantime, labor day is a day to remember to keep ourselves focused and determined. Keep our eye on the prize.
IT WAS WORTH IT.
There is no magic formula. It's blood, sweat and tears. It's going to bed early, getting up early, sacrifice and slog. It's putting down the cell phone and picking up a shovel. It's life. Your life. You can't control all of the other stuff and you might get dealt a bad hand, but you can't let that stop you. Focus, focus, focus.
Today, when you think about Labor Day, don't think, "Yay it's a day off to be a slug!", instead try asking, "Am I making it happen for myself?" Regardless of what answer you come up with, the result is the same. We have work to do. Let's do it.
Labor Day. I hope you have a productive one! :)
