After some thought, I decided to turn this little relic into a planter for the patio so that I could enjoy it everyday. It ended up being a fun little project, so I listed my steps below if you think you might want to try this yourself. If you aren't interested in the process, skip down to the bottom to see the finished product. It's super cute and here's a little secret: I spent less than $5 total. Yep. Cute AND cheap.
- You can switch out a plant for the season, if you like, without having the roots all intertwined with the other plants.
- This will help keep the water to metal contact primarily on the bottom of the box, reducing the breakdown of the metal.
- The bags are flexible and you can maneuver them until you like the arrangement and the box is filled.
Let me know what you think in comments and share your project ideas as well. Until next time, Garden On!
