One year, it was the squash bugs. Another year, the corn was laid flat by a storm. The Three Sisters planting method? I won't try that again. Growing the garden without garden fabric, meant losing the garden to the weeds. And rotating crops? I do this religiously, but still something wasn't quite right.
This year, we had the mysterious bean problem. I soaked the beans, planted them in their new location, and waited.
So then I moved them. East.
So what was the deal with that dead spot? Maybe some mineral deficiency in the soil? Weather? Parasite? I didn't have the soil tested, so for now, that part remains unknown.
What I did, instead, was plant something else there.
