It is much simpler (for me) to change how I'm eating than to set aside time in my week to devote to exercise. But after 8 weeks of changing up my diet, I have taken this week to develop a plan for exercise. I want it to be successful. It needs to fit my lifestyle and geographic location. Super hot in the summer and snowy in the winter makes year-round exercise a bit more challenging. Also, I don't want my exercise program to be gym-dependent. My current gym membership has been active all year even though I haven't set foot in the gym since February. So clearly that isn't working.
I'm going to start out with walking. Something I love to do anyway, just need to make time for it. In the summer, since I like to be outside, I have been walking during my lunch hour. This works as long as it isn't too hot. It also doesn't bog down my early morning chore schedule or my evening garden time. Summers are busy! In the winter, my treadmill will pick up the slack. Winter is not as busy for me, so I'll work out a schedule for evening walks. The Goal: 3 days a week of 1/2 hour or more. It's not huge and that is exactly the point. I need sustainable change, not sporatic exercise. This is doable. 8 more weeks. Wanna join me? :)
