                    Herbs

Greek Oregano
The Pocket Farmer:  Growing herbs is all about Quality.  Quality of the food you eat, your health and quality of life.  My whole outlook on cooking changed when I had an herb garden at my disposal!  It was fun! Everything tasted better!  I felt empowered!
My favorite herb for cooking is basil, since we use it all the time.  But a close second is oregano.  It brings me back to my childhood and my Greek Grandfather coming to visit with his home dried oregano in tow.  I LOVE this plant (photo left) which grows all the way through a Midwest winter without skipping a beat!
Cooking with Elise: I would have to say basil and cilantro!
Suninthebeeches Farmstead: St John's wort, Lung wort, peppermint, spearmint.
Bette Lee: I grow sage freeze and mix with honey for a wonderful tea to help with colds
Growing Herbs For Beginners: Hmmmm, can't live without sage, rosemary, basil, marjoram,  savory, echinacea, mints, hyssop, lavender ..all of them  :-)
Cindy Hinkley: Rosemary is at the top of my list.
Beth Magyar: peppermint and spearmint, dry and use during winter with
honey and stevia.
Brenda Hoffman: Cilantro, Chives, basil, rosemary, sage, oregano, thyme, mint. We eat em and drink mint tea.
Attainable Sustainable: Basil! It's a favorite around here for adding to sandwiches and I make pesto to freeze. Also, cilantro for salsa and rosemary for basting chicken on the BBQ.
Surreal Gardening lemon balm, chamomile, sage, echinacea, rosemary, lavender
